Not wanting to break her current pattern of spending all but one summer weekend away from home, Haze buckled herself in to her car seat and instructed Mom and Dad to drive "THAT way!" So, they did and ended up in Seattle, where lots of family awaited them. On the docket for the weekend? Some exploring in downtown, with flying fish and waterfall fountains, some birthday celebrating at Matthews Beach and some sailing at Sand Point. Hazel was (is) one very exhausted little girl. But happy. Very, very happy.

Birthdays celebrated at Matthews Beach Park: Aunt Ailey, Baby Eli, Uncle Nate, Mom, Her Highness, Aunt Marissa. That's a lot of candles.

Have we mentioned before that Aunt Ailey and Haze are BFFs? 'Cause they are.

No time was wasted in enjoying the cake frosting.
Hazel's first sail on a 14-footer. She was pensive. And maybe a little gripped.
Also probably slightly distrusting.
She came around though, choosing to sit on the more exciting starboard side, rather than the middle.
This was ground zero for the sailing/paddle boating/swimming adventures. Hazel even had her own chair.
Who says life jackets aren't in fashion?
Baby Eli was a big attraction during the weekend.
One very, very tired toddler. But a pretty happy girl, too.
