Hazel and the Pumpkin

Hazel went on a field trip at school recently to the pumpkin patch, where she proudly picked what she calls a little pumpkin (she pinches her fingers together and raises her voice when she says that) to take home.
Hazel supervised as Daddy carved the pumpkin.

It was a busy weekend in the kitchen for Hazel. She also helped Mommy make delicious muffins on Saturday night. She's quite the cook for a 2 year old!

Hazel on the Mountain

Hazel went up to the mountain for ski patrol lift evacuation training with Mommy and Daddy. She was VERY interested in the snowcats and fell in love with the CPR babies. We had to explain to her that you only do CPR on a baby when it's REALLY sick. Not sure if she got that....

We haven't moved to the moon or anything.

We've just been a little crazed. First, Dad went out of town for 10 days and in the meantime, Mom hired some babysitters and took off to race her bike and run on some trails. Thus, no pictures. Then, Grandma came to help Mom out and Hazel promptly acquired a stomach virus. Thank god Grandma came, Mom said.

Here's Haze on the mend (surrounded, of course, by all of her favorite things):

Hazel finally got better, Mom raced, Hazel hung out with more babysitters. No pictures.

Finally, finally, finally, Dad came home. This time, everyone went to the races together. Even Uncle Ritchie and Aunt Ailey came:

Hazel practiced ringing her cowbell:

And taught Aunt Ailey a thing or two about the proper way to heckle:

Everyone was very excited to be well, back together again, hanging out in the sun and bike racing.
