Camping

Dad was on call, but Mom really wanted to go camping, so she packed up Hazel and lots of stuff and met Aunt Ailey and Uncle Ritchie at Lake Cushman. Where it was about 60 degrees.

Hazel would like to know: What is UP with this summer? Can we get some heat around here already? Sheesh. 60 degrees is no good for swimming, no good at all.

Instead of swimming, everyone embarked on a hike down the Skokomish River. Ritchie generously carried Hazel so Mom didn't have to (at her appt. on Monday, Hazel was 26.5 lbs. Ouch!).

After hiking, Hazel proceeded to cover herself with mud, dirt and water back at camp, which is pretty much her most favorite pastime ever.

The next day, it was all of 58 degrees and Hazel donned a fleece. In August. Hazel is ready to move to Mexico (or is that Mom and Dad who are ready to move to Mexico?).

In Hoodsport, it was time to explore the beach and turn over every rock possible to find crabs.

And, finally, it was time to come home and stack bottles. Because beer bottles are pretty fun to stack.
