First day of Cruisers for 2013/2014!

Crested Butte runs a 13 week ski lesson program for ages 3-teen and you know Hazel does it. It's 5 hours per day of skiing with friends and learning new skills.

Yesterday was the first day. As predicted, Hazel wore her tutu.

Tygh spent three hours at the children's museum where they have a very affordable drop in program ($25!) so parents can ski. Mom didn't get a picture if that (she was too busy skiing with friends) but here he is eating chocolate chip pancakes the next morning.

Opening Day at Crested Butte!

The ski resort has opened and we are THRILLED!

Thanksgiving in Durango

We spent Thanksgiving in Durango with Nana and Poppy, where we rode the Polar Express, played in Durango's amazing pool, and visited Mesa Verde National Park. Hazel became a Junior Ranger at her second National Park. Tygh ate dirt and grinned at everyone.

That's how we roll here in the mountains

One week in the lives of Hazel and Tygh...

Rock climbing class

Climbing stairs= good preparation for climbing mountains.

Cyclocross racing.

And standing on the podium.

Ice skating (or in this case, watching ice skating).

Might be time to lower this guy's crib. Finally.

Saturday mornings are pretty mellow around here.

Because we spend out days mountain biking with friends.

Hanging out at the hot springs down the road.

Typical weekend

Hazel and Tygh don't slow down, especially during the Halloween season.

Friday was the annual Fright Night at the community center. This was the best photo (of the kids) of the bunch.

On Saturday, after a night spent at Cameron's house with 5 other kids (until 11:30pm!) while Mom and Dad went to a party, Hazel slayed the competition at her cyclocross race. She made sure to get in a proper warmup.

She won so she got to stand on the top step of the podium. This is her "pleased but very tired" face.

Sunday was spent shredding the trails of Rabbit Valley and putting Tygh in a box.
