Harvesting

Dad went off to fish with Poppy for the weekend so Mom and the kids took a breathtaking trip over Kebler Pass to Paonia where they found the Harvest Festival in full swing.

They also stopped by the pumpkin patch AND the apple orchard to fill the car with deliciousness.

Paonia was a magical 65 degrees and sunny and both kids took a nice long nap on the way home. It was perfect day.

Hiking and paddling with Grandma and Grandpa

Grandma and Grandpa made a special trip to Gunnison to celebrate Tygh's first birthday. While they were here, Hazel and Tygh decided to show them what mountain living is really about.

First up was a hike on Trail 403, one of the easiest trails around with the most amazing views.

Next, a river float down the Gunnison. Hazel is now a pro and had to show Grandma and Grandpa the ropes.

OH THE INSANITY

That was one insane week. First week of kindergarten, first soccer practice, first triathlon, Tygh's first birthday, first time riding a bike without training wheels, first time speaking in front of a crowd...We're all a little exhausted. We'll try to catch up. Let's start with soccer practice.

This was Wednesday.

 And then on Friday, Hazel raced her first triathlon. She was a rock star.

She did her warm up and cool down in the bouncy house. Of course.

First day of kindergarten!

Hazel's first day of kindergarten was today! She is going to Orsch, which starts one week later than Gunnison Lake School. That just meant we had one extra week of Camp Mom.

She was excited and nervous and thrilled all at once.

This is our version of the school bus.

Hazel wanted to know why her name wasn't written in pink.

She was, however, psyched to have her own hook.
