Life on the river

Camping trips have been fewer than the Barkers would like this spring, due to a myriad of obligations. There happened to be a free weekend on the calendar last weekend and on Friday, the Barkers left Portland faster than you can say, "to the river!"

To the Deschutes River they went. It was hot and sunny and glorious. We can't wait to go back again SOON.

Dance recitals and graduations, oh my!

In preparation for Hazel's big recital on May 19th, she and her class performed at a local retirement home. It was a good practice- they were on stage, but all the lights were on and it was very casual. All of the older people who attended loved it. Some even covered their ears because the music was "too loud". The rest of us could barely hear it. Go figure.

The next weekend, it was Mom's big graduation from University of Portland with her M.Ed. Seven years and counting...it finally happened! Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Clay came from Seattle to celebrate. Hazel wore Mom's pink shirt over an otherwise adorable outfit as her form of celebration.
