Monkeying around

Is it us or has Halloween lasted for the past two weeks?? Regardless, it was a bang-up holiday and while Mom, Dad, and Hazel had a blast, it's time for it to be over. ;)

Hazel started off the weekend with a party at daycare, complete with chocolate cupcakes and games and chocolate cupcakes and arts and crafts and chocolate cupcakes. Did we mention the chocolate cupcakes?

The Hizz spent her weekend in Astoria cheering Mom and Dad on at the cyclocross races, playing with her big kid friends, Olivia and Emma, and learning about fresh crab.

On Sunday, Haze put on her monkey costume for the THIRD time to celebrate at the Cross Crusade. Dad went as a hula girl. Can't you tell?

When monkeys get in to a whole package of Twizzlers, they get a little CRAAAAAZZZYYYYY.

Mom went as a Yup Yup Alien from Sesame Street (yes, Dad raced with his coconut bra and Mom raced with her full costume). Hazel thought it was hilarious, despite never having seen Sesame Street. Even when she saw the costume off of Mom, she started giggling.

After a raucous weekend of racing, candy, and costumes, Hazel spent her Sunday evening trick or treating at the University of Portland dorms, which turned out to be perfect for a 2-year-old with short legs and limited Halloween experience. All of the students loved her costumes and she loved getting all the candy, to which she is now limited to one piece per day. We know, we know, Mom and Dad are SOOOOOOO mean.

We'll see you next year. Maybe by then we will all have come down from our sugar high and be a little more rested.
